Apples: 2023 production in France is set to rise by 9%.

According to the latest forecasts, French apple production is estimated to be 9% higher than in 2022, and 8% higher than the average harvest from 2018 to 2022.
A publication by Agreste Conjoncture, an agency of the French Ministry of Agriculture, announces that apple production in France is estimated at 1,581,500 tonnes, based on data as at 1 July 2023.
Agreste also reports that the total area under apples this year is 39,500 hectares, spread mainly across the regions of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur (9,400 hectares), Occitanie (8,000 hectares), Nouvelle-Aquitaine (6,900 hectares), Pays de la Loire (5,100 hectares), Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes (3,300 hectares) and Centre- Val-de-Loire (1,900 hectares).
