Grape exports forecast to rise by 12% in volume in 2023/24

SATI has announced that it expects volumes inspected for export in the 2023/24 season to increase by around 12% compared with volumes actually inspected in the 2022/23 season (Photo: satgi.co.za).
According to the 1st estimate announced by SATI (South African Table Grape Industry), export volumes for the 2023/24 season should increase by +12%.
SATI has announced that it expects the volumes of the 2023/24 season inspected for export to increase by around +12% compared with the volumes actually inspected in the 2022/23 season.
This 1st estimate represents a reasonable deduction based on several factors, according to SATI. At national level, the estimate is 73.0 million cartons (4.5 kg equivalent), with an upper limit of around 75.2 million cartons (4.5 kg equivalent) and a lower limit of around 70.8 million cartons (4.5 kg equivalent).
According to the country's regions :
Orange River, the estimate is 21.1 million cartons (4.5 kg equivalent) compared with 16.4 million cartons (4.5 kg equivalent) from the 2022/23 season inspected for export;
Northern Region, the estimate is 5.9 million cartons (4.5 kg equivalent), compared with 5.6 million cartons (4.5 kg equivalent) from the previous season inspected for export;
Berg River, the estimate is 19.1 million cartons (4.5 kg equivalent), compared with 19.0 million cartons (4.5 kg equivalent) inspected for export last season;
Hex River, the estimate is 23.5 million cartons (4.5 kg equivalent), compared with 21.2 million cartons (4.5 kg equivalent) inspected for export during the previous season;
Olifants River, the estimate is 3.4 million cartons (4.5 kg equivalent), compared with 3.0 million cartons (4.5 kg equivalent) inspected for export during the previous season.
