State veterinary and phytosanitary service of Russia banned oranges delivery from Egypt
According to the latest data 4 deliveries of oranges from Egypt were excluded by State veterinary and phytosanitary service of Russia this week. Due to phytosanitary control results all the fruits (around 200 tons) were contaminated with fruit-fly which is considered to be quarantine pest in Russia. During last 4 months more than 20 deliveries of oranges were prohibited because of being infected with this kind of pest. The total weight of banned fruits comprised around 1000 tons. Almost 95% of contaminated oranges were imported from Egypt.
