Co-organized by the Shanghai International Port Group, the Seatrade Maritime Awards ceremony took place in Shanghai, China.

MSC, one of the world's leading container shipping and logistics companies, has been crowned 'Shipping Company of the Year'at the Seatrade Maritime Awards 2023. This prestigious accolade recognizes MSC for its outstanding response to keeping global trade moving in the face of global and industry challenges, the company's commitment and achievements in decarbonizing the supply chain, and its significant role in the digitization of the industry over the past year.

Over the past year, the world has experienced an economic slowdown and persistent challenges for the industry, including exceptional market conditions, operational constraints and the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite these unprecedented times, MSC has continued to maintain a strong position in its cargo business, minimizing disruptions to its customers' supply chains and optimizing their customer experience.

To invest in the business and modernize its fleet, in July 2023 MSC launched its record-breaking new Celestino Maresca-class ships of over 24,000 TEU - the largest and most fuel-efficient container ships by design. Through the ongoing redesign and upgrade of its commercial services, MSC continued to provide its customers with comprehensive global coverage, expanding and improving its network to offer new direct connections, improved transit time and increased capacity.
