2023 was a good year for pineapple exports from the Philippines, with a remarkable +5.04% increase in volume.

According to local media reports, FAO, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, has estimated that the Philippines will maintain its position as the world's 2nd largest pineapple exporter, with a volume shipped in 2023 of 611,873 tonnes. This represents an increase of 5.04% on the 582,537 tonnes exported in 2022.

The main destinations for Philippine pineapples are China (around 46% of total shipments), Japan (30%) and South Korea (13%). These 3 markets in 2023 have increased their demand for Philippine pineapple.

For 2023, the FAO has established the world ranking of pineapple exporters: Costa Rica 2 million tons of pineapple, the Philippines 611,873 tons, Ecuador 120,000 tons and Mexico 60,000 tons.
