Danish Maersk and the Swiss-Italian MSC will form an alliance of "vessel-sharing."

After the refusal of the Chinese alliance P3 (Maersk, MSC, CMA CGM) , No. 1 global maritime container transport, the Danish Maersk Line announces a partnership with MSC.

Appointed 2M agreement VSA (Vessel Sharing Agreement) of "vessel-sharing" refers to 185 ships instead of the 255 involved in the defunct alliance P3 on the Asia-Europe lines, Transatlantic (Europe-East Coast USA) and Transpacific (Asia-USA).

The agreement could be operational in early 2015 if all the authorities concerned agree.

Maersk Line will contribute 55% of total capacity (110 vessels with a nominal capacity of 1.2 million TEUs) MSC for 45% (75 vessels with a nominal capacity of 0.9 million TEUs).
