Brazil is accelerating its bioinput industry, combining tropical farming expertise with advanced technology to expand globally.
Brazil is positioning itself as a global leader in bioinputs — natural agricultural products such as biostimulants and biocontrol agents — by leveraging its tropical farming experience and advanced research capacity.
According to Latin media, the country has recorded an average annual growth of 22% in bioinput use over the past three years, with 158.6 million hectares treated during the 2024–25 season, representing 26% of its cultivated area. Domestic demand also rose 35% in the last harvest.
Today, Brazil hosts over 170 companies in the segment and offers more than 1,000 registered products, with a competitive advantage in developing solutions adapted to tropical and temperate conditions.
To drive international expansion, ApexBrasil (the national trade and investment agency) and CropLife Brasil (the association representing agritech and biotech companies) launched the Projeto Bioinsumos do Brasil. The initiative seeks to strengthen the country’s global presence, harmonize regulations, and promote exports first across Latin America and later in Europe and North America.
