State of Mexico leads national production of mushrooms

The State of Mexico has stood out as a leader in mushroom production, playing a crucial role in the national supply. According to information from the state government, annual production reaches 5,000 tons.

 

Recently, the region has seen a significant increase in this activity. The municipalities of Valle de Bravo, Zitácuaro and Atlacomulco are the nerve centers of this crop, with Atlacomulco being the most prominent.

 

The predominant varieties in the State of Mexico include white mushroom, oyster mushroom and mushroom, which together make up more than 80% of the total produced.
