Recently, the region has seen a significant increase in this activity. The municipalities of Valle de Bravo, Zitácuaro and Atlacomulco are the nerve centers of this crop, with Atlacomulco being the most prominent.
The predominant varieties in the State of Mexico include white mushroom, oyster mushroom and mushroom, which together make up more than 80% of the total produced.
