Record harvest volume for US pistachio growers

According to the latest estimates, the harvest should exceed 1.5 billion pounds (approx. 680,388 tonnes). This is significantly higher than the 2021/22 harvest, which reached 1.16 billion pounds (Photo: americanpistachios.org).
In the United States, this year's pistachio crop is already 15% larger than initially forecast, and exceeds the 2021/22 crop, the largest ever recorded.
According to U.S. media reports, the pistachio crop was initially estimated at 1.3 billion pounds (approx. 589,670 tonnes), then according to reports in early November the crop was estimated at 1.48 billion pounds (approx. 671,316 tonnes). Now, according to the latest estimates, the harvest should exceed 1.5 billion pounds (approx. 680,388 tonnes).
This is significantly higher than the 2021/22 harvest, which reached 1.16 billion pounds (approx. 526,167 tonnes).
Quality is considered excellent, and the nuts are of good size.
The state of California accounts for around 99% of total US production, with the remainder produced in the states of Arizona, New Mexico and Texas.
