The Chilean Walnut Producers and Exporters Trade Association, Chilenut, has issued a statement on the current state of the walnut harvest in the country.
According to data collected at the end of April in fields, shelling and drying plants, the harvest has been delayed by 10 to 15 days compared to a normal season. In addition, production volumes are estimated to have decreased by 15-25% compared to the 2023 season.
In terms of key quality parameters, these remain within normal ranges, although a slight decrease of about one percentage point in pulp yield has been observed.
Chilenut has indicated that it will continue to update this information in the coming weeks as the processes are finalised.
