Blueberries were not grown in Morocco 15 years ago. Now blueberry acreage exceeds strawberry acreage and even raspberry acreage.
Local media have reported that for the 2023-24 crop year, blueberries are grown on 5,300 hectares. This makes them the No. 1 berry in Morocco, ahead of strawberries (2,500 hectares) and raspberries (4,300 hectares).
According to Moroccan professionals, blueberry cultivation will continue to develop and should reach 6,000 hectares in the coming years.
