Increased demand for the internal and the European market as well for new markets (Middle East, Russia).
Morocco is experiencing a significant increase in demand for organic products on both its domestic and export markets.
In the country, distribution networks are spreading and points of sale have multiplied for 2-3 years. Nearly a hundred operators are present in the segment and some brands have growth rates of 15 to 30%.
Moroccan production is mainly export-oriented. Last year 10,250 tons were exported and this year the quantities are already higher than these volumes. Europe is the No. 1 market with France, Switzerland, Germany, England and Spain at the top. The Middle East and Russia, where exports have started, are also promising markets.
The organic sector plans to improve its productivity and has set itself the objective of increasing the area under cultivation in 2020 to 40 000 hectares, reaching 400 000 tons of production and 60 000 tons of exports.
