Huelva strawberry exports increased 36.12% in 5 years but to keep this momentum they must now find new markets.
To maintain the momentum of recent years the Spanish strawberries are looking for new markets.
According to Freshuelva, strawberry exports rose 36.12% from 192,750 tons in 2006/2007 to 262,377 tons last season.
For the 2011-2012 season, the largest buyer
of strawberries from Huelva was Germany with 33.91% of exports, followed by France with 27.06%.
But Huelva strawberries want to find alternatives to traditional markets and strengthen its presence across Europe (Finland, Hungary), Asia (China) and South America.
