This season a good harvest is expected in Brazil, the premier producer and exporter of orange juice.
Good weather has encouraged a crop that looks good compared to last season.
The U.S. Agricultural Trade Office announces a production of 495 million cases (90 pound / 40.9 kg) an increase of 32% compared to the previous season. Some regions such as the states of Sao Paulo and Minas Gerais are expected to increase by 43%.
Acreage is the same as last season with 803,000 hectares. Favourable weather conditions have helped flowering and fruit development. Performance has improved and is expected to reach 2.24 cases per tree - 30% more than last season.
