Ukraine reduces pears import volumes

In accordance with the recent statistics data, Ukraine has significantly reduced import volumes of pears this season. The import amount decrease comprised nearly 50% of the usual numbers. Against 6 000 tons of pears delivered to Ukraine in season 2014, the amount of fruits imported to the local market of Ukraine this year skid down to 2 5000 tons. According to the local specialists, sudden drop of pears import volumes could be attributed to dramatic devaluation of local currency (UAH) in December 2014 - February 2015 period, when most of pears are usually imported to Ukraine.
