French breeder Agro Selections Fruits increases Ondine flat stone fruit

2 new early varieties of flat nectarines have been added to the calendar of Ondine, the exquisite umbrella-brand of white-flesh flat peaches and flat nectarines. It can be harvested early of mid-June depending on the area, which is 2 weeks earlier than Cakebella, the earlier existing variety of Ondine portfolio so far. “We will in future introduce low-chilling varieties from the new cultivars we have been testing since 2020” informs Aurelie Ferrieux, Executive Manager of Agro Selections Fruits (ASF). Ondine is present today on 74 supermarkets in Europe and overseas like Woolworths in Australia, Pack-n-Shop in Hong-Kong, Spinneys in Dubai. More than 1000ha of Ondine varieties have been planted in Northern and Southern Hemisphere and about 15 000 tons shall be produced this season in France, Italy and Spain alone.
