Production is concentrated in the coastal regions of western and southern Turkey, with Mersin, Canakkale, Bursa and Izmir.
Turkey's peach and nectarine production will reach a record 1.2 million tons in the 2024-2025 marketing year, up 11% from the previous year, thanks to optimal growing conditions, forecasts the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). This increase is due to orchard modernization and the adoption of higher yielding varieties.
Exports are expected to increase to 250,000 tons, with Russia, Iraq and Romania as the main destinations.
Production is concentrated in the western and southern coastal regions of Turkey, with Mersin, Canakkale, Bursa and Izmir as the main producing provinces. The marketing campaign will start in April, with harvesting extending from May to October.
