Historic season for Chilean fruit exports

In the first half of 2024, blueberry exports showed an increase of 21.4% compared to the same period in 2023.
Chilean cherries reached an all-time record with shipments exceeding $ 2.2 billion between November 2023 and February 2024, mainly to China. ProChile notes that in the first half of 2024, blueberry exports reached $ 403 million, an increase of 21.4% over the same period in 2023, with the United States, Germany and the United Kingdom as the main destinations.
Plums also saw a significant increase, with exports of $308 million, 40% more than the previous year. Peaches and nectarines added $164 million in shipments, up 25%, with China, the United States and Mexico as key markets.
Other notable increases included kiwifruit, at $139 million and up 13%, and grapes, which reached $931 million, up 17% from the same period in 2023.
