In Norway, as in other European countries, consumption of fresh fruit and vegetables is showing a clear downward trend.
The local media cite the national survey commissioned by OFG (Office for Fruit and Vegetable Information) detailing Norwegians' eating habits. The survey shows that Norwegians are buying less fruit and vegetables than 2 years ago.
In particular, 49% of women with children living at home prefer to give fruit and vegetables to their children and reduce their own consumption. Men are 44% to respond in the same way.
Expensive fruit and vegetables (berries, avocados, mangoes) are given to children and eaten less by women.
