In Ireland, heavy rain continues to hamper planting. This delay is likely to result in an extremely late date for the potato harvest (Photo: ifa.ie).
Since the start of spring 2024, Irish and European potato growers have experienced delays in planting schedules and crop progress due to adverse weather conditions.
According to the latest IFA (Irish Farmers Association) report, Ireland and Western Europe continue to experience adverse weather conditions. Periods of wet weather follow one another, and periods of dry weather are rare and short-lived.

In Europe, weather conditions have also delayed planting, particularly in the Netherlands.
