Drop in avocado production in Chile

In the campaign 2022/23, Chilean avocado production will decrease by 18.2% year-over-year, totaling 180,000 tons, according to the GAIN report by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). The drop in production is explained by frosts. 

The main export destinations for the Chilean fruit will be the Netherlands, Argentina, and the United Kingdom. 

Hass remains the main variety cultivated in Chile.
