Tive Tag: What is so unique about this new logger?
VU | Tive Inc.
Tive is one of the leading providers of in-transit shipment visibility solutions. This is not only a simple tracking device - it’s a comprehensive solution that helps our clients feel confident and secure about their products in transit, improve the customer experience, and unlock actionable supply chain insights.
"The process is very simple and intuitive", explains Dennis Perjet, Head of Strategic Accounts, Tive EMEA. "The first step is to mount directly on the parcel a small and technologically advanced device - Tracker, which captures and transmits shipment data in real-time with unprecedented accuracy using cellular, GPS or Wi-Fi. This allows to track parcels on an ongoing basis, regardless of the means of transport used, as well as when changing the method of transporting parcels, e.g. in intermodal transport. The platform shows the exact location and parameters of the shipment. Tive’s hyper-accurate trackers monitor not only the location of shipments, but also the condition—such as temperature, humidity, shock, and light — in real time. For instance, sensors are built in to detect the opening of the package by changes in light intensity (e.g. if someone opens a container or even a package), temperature, humidity, fall or shock, and even the orientation of the package. Custom alerts and notifications can also be configured so that in the event of a change of one of the monitored parameters, the user can receive an SMS, email or system notification."
Widening Tive’s portfolio of cold chain innovations is Tive Tag. Introduced this summer, the Tive Tag is a cloud-enabled temperature logger, in the form of a thin, flexible shipping label, and at half the cost of a conventional logger. This has been designed for first and last-mile deliveries, warehouse operations, as well as over the road, rail, air, and ocean cold chain management.
On top of that, Tive recently introduced a validated, complete cold chain solution for the pharmaceutical and biological industries. Tive’s multi-sensor Solo 5G trackers capture and transmit hyper-accurate location and temperature data of shipments in real time, covering the full range of temperatures required to protect all critical cold chain shipments - including dry ice and cryogenic shipments. In addition to the lithium and non-lithium Solo 5G trackers already covering the temperature range of -30°C to +60°C, Tive is adding new trackers with probes that will reach -200°C to monitor dry ice and cryogenic shipments.
Why choose Tive?
Tive offers a full 24/7 visibility of parcels in transit regardless of transportation means. Unlike other real-time solutions that offer sensors and an application, Tive solution helps save global shipments with hyper-accurate trackers that actively monitor a shipment’s location and condition in real-time. An intuitive cloud application delivers actionable real-time data on shipments, sends configurable excursion alerts, and the Tive Live Monitoring team of logistics experts monitor shipments around the clock to ensure shipments are not delayed or damaged. Tive SaaS platform can operate independently, or you can use Tive API or webhooks for seamless integration of shipment location and condition data into TMS, ERP, WMS or CRM.
The other advantage of Tive solution is complete solution for controlled temperature transport. Even at the beginning of the XXI century, shipments were monitored for temperature only at departure and upon receipt. In case of transport of specialized drugs or organs, dedicated transport was most often used, and the packaging (box) was equipped with a temperature gauge. The procedure was not perfect, as neither the sender nor the recipient had access to information about transport conditions during transit. Tive solution enables monitoring parcels with accuracy of +/- 0.50C in the temperature range up to -2000C. The development of technology allows the use of trackers and probes monitoring the goods in refrigerated conditions, which thanks to the use of IoT and cloud computing as well as universal access to the network allow for constant monitoring, among others. Temperature, humidity or location of the shipment in real time, and even in the case of minimal deviations from the set parameters, all parties involved are notified with special alerts. The challenge for companies now is to implement such solutions on all freight requiring transport in a controlled temperature.
The last but not least, advantage of Tive solutions is designed for controlled temperature transport, especially for the first and last mile, Tive Tag - a flexible shipping label which looks like a standard label but in fact is technically advanced, paper-thin tracker that allows to hyper accurate monitor location and the temperature of the shipment, of course in real-time.
Latest developments
In 2022, Tive introduced 2 revolutionary solutions: Tive Tag, a flexible, ultra-thin, e-label that looks like a standard shipment label, but is a technically advanced logger that monitors location and temperature designed for first and last-mile deliveries, warehouse operations, as well as over the road, rail, air, and ocean cold chain management.
At the end of September, Tive announced a portfolio of real-time cold chain management logistics solutions for pharmaceutical, biological, and cell gene therapy companies. Tive’s multi-sensor Solo 5G trackers capture and transmit hyper-accurate location and temperature data of shipments in real time—enabling customers to actively monitor in-transit shipments, take action when deviations occur, and identify areas for supply chain improvements. Tive now covers the full range of temperatures required to protect all critical cold chain shipments—including dry ice and cryogenic shipments. In addition to lithium and non-lithium Solo 5G trackers (TT-7000/TT-7100) already covering the temperature range of -30°C to +60°C, Tive is adding new trackers with probes that will reach -200°C to monitor dry ice and cryogenic shipments.
Tive is constantly monitoring the market and consumer needs. A highly talented team of developers is working on the new solutions that will help their customers to optimize their logistics chains, including solutions dedicated for B2C.
To conclude
Tive solutions is entirely a Logistics 4.0 solution, which is an industrial revolution of the twenty-first century. It is based on the multi-faceted integration of information and technology systems, based on the automation and digitization of warehousing and distribution processes. It goes well beyond individual companies and their supply chains. Furthermore, it is based on the mutual cooperation of many organizations operating within the network of interconnections of logistic systems. Thanks to the close cooperation of all involved entities, the use of the Internet of Things, cloud computing and process automation, it effectively eliminates problems before they arise. The tools it uses are automatic systems, autonomous devices, RFID technology, automatic monitoring and notification systems for transit, and above all, data analysis using real-time cloud computing. This allows you to optimize TSL processes and reduce losses, and thus optimize the profits of each participant in the supply chain.
Having said the above, and following the idea behind Logistics 4.0, in 2019, Tive founded Open Visibility Network (OVN) which ensures the vision of a world where everything and everyone is connected becomes a reality. The OVN makes shipment-level data and insights available to mutual customers and is open to all leading technology enabled stakeholders to join. Current OVN members and partners include Tive, project44, FourKites, TransVoyant, FarEye, Marine Traffic, Everstream Analytics, and many more.
