The increase of the yields in the culture of the tubercle would allow to duplicate the production in the next years without increasing the area dedicated to the culture, according to a private study.
"The production of potatoes in the country - at the moment below three million annual tons - could be duplicated in few years", considered the engineer agronomist Daniel Caldiz, during the presentation of his book "Production, harvests and storage of potatoes in Argentina".
According to Caldiz, this potential of growth places Argentina "in a very favorable situation" in the middle of the increasing demand of foods that is registered in the world.
