Spain is still the largest exporter of F & V in the EU

Intra-EU trade , reflecting exports and imports between the EU Member States, fell by 2% in volume ( 18.7 million tonnes) and 7% in value (14.8 million euros) , according to Eurostat , the Statistical Office of the European Union.
By country , Spain is still the largest exporter of Fruits & Vegetables in the EU with 6.1 million tonnes and 5.5 million euros , followed by the Netherlands with 3.6 million tonnes and 3.6 million euros , France with 2.2 million tonnes and 1.2 million euros . Followed by Belgium with 1.8 million tonnes , Italy with 1.4 million tonnes and Germany with 1.1 million tonnes.
For vegetables , the intra-EU trade accounted for 10.4 million tonnes (-3%) for a value of 6.8 million euros (-9 %). Potatoes (3.6 million tonnes) and tomatoes ( 1.3 million tonnes ) are the main vegetables marketed in the EU.
For fruit , intra-EU trade accounted for 8.2 million tonnes, the same as the first half of 2013 volume , but its value has decreased by 5% to 7, 9 million. Oranges ( 1.35 million tonnes) , bananas (1.33 million tonnes) and apples (1 million tonnes) are the main fruits traded between Member States of the EU
