More Turkish fruits and vegetables being exported

Despite a slight decline in fruit exports (- 6% in quantity, the total export of fruit and vegetables (including citrus) increased compared to 2014 for the same period. 55 percent of Turkey's total exports are citrus , while the proportion of vegetables exported is 19 per cent and fruit 26 percent (in quantity).
Lemon is the fresh product the most exported in October (+ 57% in quantity compared to October 2014), followed by mandarins, grapes and pomegranates. Note that the fig, although coming in 7th place, increased its exports by 193% in quantity and 235% in value, despite a lower production.
The tomato is the most exported vegetable, representing half of total exports of vegetables in October.
Russia increased its exports of Turkish fruits and vegetables by 10 percent and it represents 35 percent (in quantity) of Turkey's total exports, followed by far behind with 15% Iraq. Germany in 3rd place, with only 3%. Citrus exports, whose season started later this year, were higher than in October 2014, an increase of 35%.
