In Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, a conference brought together more than 300 experts at KARI (Kenya Agricultural Research Institute) to improve the banana sector. The agricultural research institutes, regional institutions, development partners, BGAK the association of banana producers, AGRA Alliance for a Green Revolution.
Productivity and profitability of the sector must pass through the improvment of the value chain. Support the production, adoption of quality planting material, promote better post-harvest practices (storage, ...) and to improve collective marketing.
