Andalusia increases its surfaces of tomatoes

Increase in the areas of tomatoes for 2013-14

Territorial Delegation of Andalucía predicts an increase of 8% of the area of tomatoes. Started in the fall, this trend will be confirmed in some time. The surfaces of tomatoes could reach approximately 11,000 hectares.

Upward trend also for areas pof eppers with 8300 hectares (+2%) and the areas of zucchini  with 6 614 hectares  (+3%). For cucumber, the surfaces remain stable slightly less than 5000 hectares. In contrast, the surfaces of eggplant will fall by 12% to 1,600 hectares.
