Asia is the main recipient of Chilean fresh fruits

According to data from the Chilean Fruit Exporters Association (ASOEX), during the ongoing fresh fruit export season that began on September 1, 2020, Chile has exported 2,256,074 tons, showing a slight increase of 0.69%, compared to 2019-2020.
Asia has received 709,111 tons, showing an increase of 19% compared to the previous year. In this way, the Asian market has become the main recipient of Chilean fresh fruits to date.
North America is the second largest recipient: the U.S. received 629.929 tons and Canada 42.685 tons, followed by Europe with 462.702 tons, Latin America with 349.954 tons, and the Middle East with 61.692 tons.
Grapes lead exports with 536,413 tons, followed by apples with 525,347 tons and cherries with 352,565 tons.
