Tuesday 05 June 2007
The South African fruit production will approximately increase in 2007 about 5% to the level of 1,35 million of metric tons. This rise in fruit production will result in augmentation of South African fresh produce export also about 5% in season 2006/2007.
The shipments of pears and apples may increase about 18,4% and 4,5% respectively.
Table grapes are estimated to remain on the level of previous year's crop mainly due to decreased production.
