Positive outlook for mushrooms from Veneto
FJ
Mushroom growers in the Veneto region are confident.
Positive perspectives for mushrooms grown in the Veneto region. Demand is good, the prices on good trend. Partly because of the shortage of wild mushrooms resulting from adverse weather conditions (unfavorable spring and summer). During the summer demand has fallen, which is normal with the heat, but will resume at the approach of autumn.
In Italy more than 80% of cultivated mushrooms are eaten fresh, canned goods come from abroad. Domestic production (data from Istat 2012 ) of cultivated mushrooms is 10,865,000 quintals.
