In the battle for the admission of popular Scottish potato variety in Germany is no longer authorized to trade seed potato Linda.
The followers of the popular variety tubers imported from Scotland press on agricultural government offices to permit the import of this tuber.
“A truck with 25 tons would be expected in December”, said George Janßen friend of Linda in Luneburg. "We want to ensure that the pressure on the Bundessortenamt increase.”
“It is not understandable that the Office for two years hasn’t taken any decision on the re-admission meeting.”
The Luneburg Linda developers had dismissed the Linda Variety of the seed list in 2005 after 30 years of cultivation, because they consider the variety as a factor of tuber disease transfer.
The Linda supporters argue that consumers should decide what potato they want to eat.
