The Turkish citrus season begins slowly.

 

It was a week later than last year for grapefruits and two weeks later for this variety of mandarin. A good harvest is announced, superior to last year, which had been marked by a significant drop in the harvest of grapefruits.

 

The first statistics on citrus exports for the month of September show a 32% drop in exports and 28% in value, reflecting perfectly the large drop in the Interdonato lemons harvest from about 50% to certain places. This variety of lemons is the earliest in Turkey and comes just after the Argentinian season and before the Spanish season.
