Increase in cape gooseberry exports

Between January and February 2022, Colombian cape gooseberry exports reached $6.5 million, according to data from Dane, while the same period in 2021 the figure was $5.9 million.
According to Flavia Santoro, president of Procolombia, cape gooseberry is one of the main fruits in Colombia's agro-export basket, along with avocado, passion fruit and Tahiti lemon. (ProColombia is a government agency of the executive branch of the Government of Colombia in charge of promoting country's exports.)
Today, Colombia supplies 17 countries with this fruit, among which the United States, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Canada, Brazil and the United Arab Emirates stand out.
The main producing departments are Cundinamarca, Bogotá, Antioquia and Boyacá.
