Tuesday 23 January 2007
The price for so called root-vegetable is going up, while the stable price is holding by onions and potatoes. The same situation of stable prices at the moment concerns apples - but in this case it should be mentioned that these fruit are getting deteriorated quickly in preserve stores.
The biggest wholesale market is operating in Sandomierz/southeast Poland/ where apples sold in big volume are transported by Ukraine to Russia. Such transportation may take a week and this is enough time for wrong preserved fruit to be suitable for further sale. So many producers who didn't take enough measures to maintain the quality may face returns of goods - comments the authors of report.
