The Agricultural and Fisheries Information Service of the Andalusian Regional Government (Españ) has released a report detailing the phenological progress of greenhouse crops in the region.
In Almeria, melons are reported to be at different stages, from growth to ripening, with areas already in the harvesting phase.
The courgette crop is at its peak, showing good fruit development and quality.
Pepper harvesting is concluding, continuing only if prices are favourable.
Seasonal tomatoes are dealing with the tuta pest, while aubergines and cucumbers maintain a stable and good quality production.
In Cadiz, greenhouses are producing French type courgettes and cucumbers.
Italian green peppers exhibit high productivity and are free from significant pests.
Galia melons go through several stages, from flowering to fruit growth.
The pear tomato season is in its early stages, with fruit at various stages of growth.
From Granada, particularly in the Baza region, tomatoes are in the growing phase and varieties such as pear cherry are being implemented in hydroponic cultivation.
Courgettes planted at the beginning of April and Italian type peppers to be sown this week are also reported.
On the Coast, in Vélez de Benaudalla, aubergines are being harvested, while cucumber cycles are coming to an end.
In Huelva, strawberry production is decreasing due to adverse weather conditions and labour shortages. Raspberries, in their second harvest, are yielding 1 kg per plant in varieties such as Adelita.
Finally, in Malaga, the greenhouses of Velez-Malaga are producing tomatoes of various types, although with average yields and falling prices.
Production of aubergines is starting, while Italian and Lamuyo peppers, especially the red ones, are in full production. French type cucumbers show reduced production, and fine black courgettes are being harvested in areas such as Torrox-Almayate.
