Growers can check phytosanitary records, monitor inspection activities and follow export compliance requirements through a digital platform.
Hass avocado growers in Colombia now have a digital tool to check the phytosanitary status of their production sites and monitor progress toward meeting export requirements. The application, called Sisfito-Hass, is being promoted by the Colombian Agricultural Institute (ICA).
Through the platform, producers can access updated information about their farms and surrounding buffer zones, including pest monitoring and official surveillance activities.
They can also check whether their production sites are being linked to the phytosanitary work plans required for specific export markets.
Where applicable, the system allows growers to view trap locations and record field monitoring results. These features help producers follow crop-health conditions and keep the information needed for inspections up to date.
ICA is encouraging avocado producers already participating in the official surveillance program to use Sisfito-Hass regularly and review their records.
