Exceptionally, snow fell in the region of Bechar, centre-west Algeria near the Moroccan border. A cold snap brought down to 5 cm of snow on the city of Beni
Ounif and its region. Meteorologists explain this phenomenon by a small depression at at altitude, although the city is situated at 750m above sea level.
