An expected bumper crop for citrus fruit

The organization of producers in southern Australia is preparing for a bumper crop of citrus fruit, despite a late start to the season.
The SA Citrus Board expects that the harvest of orange and tangerine will far exceed that of last year. The organization provides 80,000 tons of navel oranges, which represent 55,000 tons more. Mandarins represents 25,000 tons or 6,000 tons. The Valencia is expected to reach 50,000 tons.
Fruit quality will be exceptionnal according to the organization. With little wind, maturity is progressing well but the harvest should be delayed by 2 to 3 weeks from the usual schedule.
