The first cherries of the season have already left for the Port of San Antonio via the railway. In total, 31 cargo containers associated with the A.P. Møller-Mærsk, originating in Teno, Maule Region, mark the beginning of the second consecutive year of transporting cherries by rail.
To transport the fruit, specially conditioned wagons are used with the capacity to supply electrical energy to the refrigerated containers, thus facilitating the transportation of agro-industrial products from the Maule and O'Higgins regions to the Port of San Antonio.
