In Senegal, the mango sector has grown considerably over the past 5 years. Going from 8,000 tonnes to 24,000 tonnes in 2019. But this year, with the pandemic, production fell and exports fell.

 

 

 

According to Senegalese professionals, the price of transport to European countries has increased, especially air transport. The price of mango has increased due to lower production. Factors that cause the Senegalese mango to lose competitiveness in world markets.

 

 

 

At ASEPEX (Senegalese Export Promotion Agency) a detailed analysis of the situation is underway. A revival of the sector will be necessary with the support of the government.
