New president and new vice presidents elected by COPA

The leaders of COPA, the European farmers' organization, elected Albert Jan Maat as President of their organization for the period 2013-2015. He succeeds Gerd Sonnleitner, whose mandate came to an end.
Albert Jan Maat is the President of LTO, the Farmers' Union of the Netherlands, since 2007, and was a member of the European Parliament during the period 1999-2007. It is also four years that he has been the Vice-President of COPA.
COPA has also elected six new Vice Presidents for a mandate of two years: M Xavier Beulin (FNSEA - France), Mr. Harry Sinclair (UFU, Northern Ireland), Mr. Serra Ricardo Arias (ASAJA, Spain); Zsolt Miklós Kis (HCA, Hungary), Mr. Jerzy Chróscikowski (Solidarnosc, Poland) and Ms. Maira Dzelzkaleja (Parliament Latvian farmers, Latvia).
