Saudi Arabia represents a major new opportunity for Uzbek producers.
A decision enabling Uzbekistan to export fruits and other agricultural products to Saudi Arabia is expected within the next 60 days, according to Saudi Investment Minister Khalid Al-Falih. The announcement followed his meeting with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, where both sides discussed expanding cooperation in agribusiness, land development, and livestock projects.
Saudi Arabia, which relies heavily on imports to meet domestic food demand, represents a major new opportunity for Uzbek producers. Once technical procedures are finalised, Uzbek farm goods will gain access not only to the Saudi market but potentially to neighbouring countries as well, Al-Falih stated.
