The port of Ravenna looks at east
FJ
The only port of Emilia-Romagna, the port of Ravenna by its geographical location plays an important role in trade with the eastern Mediterranean.
The port of Ravenna is the leader in Italy for trade with the Eastern Mediterranean and the Black Sea, about 40% of the national total, with the exception of coal and petroleum products. Beyond the eastern Mediterranean and the Black Sea (Libya, Egypt, Turkey) the development of the port is linked to the growth of trade with India and China via the Suez Canal.
This expected increase of traffic results in development projects such as a new container terminal. Recently a meeting (called Go East!) was held to take stock of the opportunities provided and the links between martimes services and land logistics.
