MAC FRUIT ATTRACTION CHINA : MAAP Padova Wholesale Market : « We can be a hub for Italian fruit to China »

MAAP, the Padova Wholesale Market Organisation (Italy) has exhibited in MAC FRUIT ATTRACTION CHINA. Both Dr. Luca Brusadelli, Member of the Board of Director & Mr. Francesco Cera were present for this 1st edition of the show. The organisation which is recognized as a Hub for Italian fresh produce to Central & Eastern Europe, is exploring new opportunities in China.

Mr Francesco Cera explains : « We are operating as a Hub for Central & Eastern Europe market with full containers/trucks but also mixed containers & trucks, and even mixed pallets prepared directly for our importers customers. They like it ! And we believe we could also be a hub for a destination like China. 20 years ago, we never thought being a hub for Central & Eastern Europe, nothing is impossible ! »

Dr. Luca Brusadelli outlines : « In 10 months, a railway line will operate to cover the 10.500 kms from Ravenna (Italy) to Shanghai. This will be done in 18 days. When it comes to 15 days, we could export stone fruit, citrus, etc… Our environment is changing rapidly and our responsability is to consider all options for our members development. »

« This exhibition has be very interesting. Chinese professionals have been very curious about the products we could bring here. They want to learn more and their interest is high. We had few meetings where importers wanted produce immediately, unfortunately italian products are not all authorized here in China. But Italy has a lot to offer. Do you know there are 1200 varieties of apples in the world and 1000 are in Italy ! We have both expertise and diversity, Chinese love that ! »
