Potato production estimated at 150 000 tonnes

 

 

The potato harvest has just started and this year a record production is expected. A total volume of 150 000 tonnes of potatoes is planned. This is much more than the 118,000 tonnes produced in 2017 and largely covers the national needs estimated at 95,000 tonnes.

 

 

 

Growing subsidies this year for the purchase of high-performance seeds and better farming equipment explain this increase in production. These additional volumes may strengthen Senegalese exports.
