Sicasov supports creators and users of plant varieties

SICASOV's mission is to manage the intellectual property rights held by the creators of plant varieties. Protected plant varieties produced under license in the field of field crops but also varieties of horticultural, fruit, forest and floral species (Photos: slideplayer.com/Sicasov).
Sicavov, a French Agricultural Collective Interest Company of international scope, brings together breeders and publishers of fruit varieties to promote their research in varietal innovation and defense against counterfeiting, from production to marketing.
The improvement of fruit species always requires considerable investment to meet, while respecting the environment, the needs of producers, marketers and consumers of fruit.
Counterfeiting, the use of protected varieties without financial contribution to research, jeopardizes the sustainability of variety selection, which is detrimental to the entire sector.
Sicasov was created in 1948 by breeders of field crop varieties in order to manage and defend their rights. It brings, in Europe, to the main fruit breeders and publishers
- its experience in informing and raising awareness among stakeholders in the fruit sector,
- its expertise in the fight against counterfeiting.
These services are accessible to European breeders and publishers.
