The impact of the health crisis in China is significant for Chilean avocado exports The health crisis linked to Covid-19 in China had a direct impact on its trade with Chile. Chile has experienced a decline in fruit exports to the Chinese market, particularly for cherries and avocados.

 

 

 

For the first 2 of this year, Chile has just recorded a decline in its exports to China. If the decrease is estimated at 7.5% for all Chilean exports to the Chinese market, for the fruit sector the decline reaches or exceeds 20%.

 

 

 

The decline would be 18.1% for grape exports, 27.6% for cherry exports and 27.7% for avocado exports.

 

 

 

According to the Chilean national customs service, the situation seems to be improving in Chinese ports.
