The strawberries of Huelva are suffering of the cold and the rain.
After the cold spell and the frosts, it is now rains and floods that disrupt the strawberries sector.
The COAG considers that 50 % of the strawberries production in the province of Huelva is lost. The General Secretary of the COAG-Huelva, Juan Antonio Camacho, considers that this loss will put the sector in difficulties.
"Usually, we should be approximately 20-25 percent of the estimated production and this day, we hardly reach 10 percent, with more delay for the campaign and the irreversible loss of fruits."
Furthermore, the humidity facilitates the appearance of the mushroom "botrytis" on fruits.
