Ahold about to sell its Santa Isabel Chain

The Dutch distributor Ahold should sell its Chilean chain of supermarkets Santa Isabel to Cencosud SA for approximately 150 million U.S dollars. Some time ago, Ahold had announced it was to separate from its non lucrative operations that include the 76 Santa Isabel stores. Further to this transaction, Cencosud should rank second on the retail market in Chile.
