In the province of Bergamo, the company had an 8,000m2 warehouse, around forty banana ripening rooms, and had stands in 3 wholesale markets (Bergamo, Milan, Verona).
The owners of the company, the brothers Carlo and Alessandro Santini, have been accused of a series of extortions aggravated by mafia methods. Extortions that took place from 2013 to 2017 and were aimed at recovering unpaid credits. The Santini brothers would have entrusted credit recovery missions to 2 characters whose links with the Mafia were known in the Fruits and Vegetables sector. For their part, the Santini brothers had claimed that they themselves were victims of fraud and that there was a regular employment contract.
In March 2022 the court recognized the aggravating circumstance with mafia methods and sentenced the Santini brothers to heavy prison terms. The company has just been declared bankrupt by the court.
